The Survey And Countermeasures Of English Teaching In Primary Schools Of Jishishan County In Gansu Province

Teaching English in primary schools in China has been one of topics of much discussion in the current foreign language teaching reform. In order to learn about accurately current situation of English teaching of primary schools in minority poverty region of our country , the author of this paper carried on a sampling for English teaching of primary schools in Jishishan county in Linxia prefecture of Gansu province. Collecting data by the form of interviews, questionnaires, the classroom observation, comparing the demands for English teaching of primary school from English course standard with English teachers in primary schools in Jishishan county, situation of students learning English, classroom teaching, teaching material, English course offered, the shortage in primary English education in Jishishan county has been found out and some suggestions for the shortage have been proposed.
