The major purposes of the research are to explore the state of career maturity and career self-efficacy of secondary vocational school students and to analyze the immediate and follow-up counseling effects and the therapeutic factors of solution-focused group counseling on secondary vocational school students. Suggestions from the results of this study are provided for school counselors.The research is designed as three parts. In the first part, 1,000 secondary vocational school students ranging from 16 to 18 years old completed the revised edition of Career Development Scaling and Career Self-Efficacy Scaling to examine the state of career maturity and career self-efficacy of secondary vocational school students. In the second part, 48 secondary vocational school students with low career maturity were assigned into experiment group and control group. The 24 students in experiment group were arranged to attend eight sessions of solution-focused group counseling and a follow-up interview after four weeks. The control group received no treatment. The independent variable is the solution-focused group counseling and the dependent variables are "career maturity" and "career self-efficacy". All subjects received the pretest, the posttest, and the follow-up test with the Career Development Scaling and the Career Self-Efficacy Scaling. The data were analyzed by analysis of T-test for quantitative analysis. In the third part, the video of the process of group, feedback sheets and interviews of 24 group members were used as the proof and supplements of the research results and to analyze the therapeutic factors of the solution-focused group.The following conclusions are drawn from this research:1.
