21C is the information science age. The information technology improves greatly and is being used in all walks of life. It also causes profound changes from economy to superstructure. Education belongs to the realm of super structure, so we must face up to the basic feature of our age as materialists.At the present time, the whole world attempts to use information science to assist teaching. Improving the teaching quality with the help of information technology has become the main orientation of the world's teaching innovation. We can safely say that the information science is not only the feature of intellectual economy but also that of the world's education. Without information assisting, education will lost the carrier; and without the right carrier, there is no innovation. Physical education is a vital part of modern education, so it must adapt itself to the informative innovation.There are differences between the physical Education in higher vocational colleges and that in universities. How to choose the right teaching contents and teaching methods while taking the students' characteristis in the higher vocational colleges into consideration becomes a problem which needs to be solved immediately. The information science brings lots of new changes to Physical Education and push's on Physical Education from varied aspects. At the same time, the innovations on P.E needs support of the information science as well.This thesis attempts to elaborate the currant situation and innovations of P.E in the higher vocational colleges and offer some new ideas on improving the teaching quality of P.E in the higher vocational collages.
