Reading is quite an important skill in language learning, but lacking of language knowledge, background knowledge and passage structure knowledge tends to prevent English learners from reading effectively. During the past few years the schema theory has been introduced to English reading classes, which makes the research of schema theory in the teaching of English reading a hot point. Although over these years many scholars have done a lot of significant work, almost nobody studies the construction of schemata systematically and specially, especially they hardly deal with the conformity of reading teaching and information technology. Therefore, this thesis is to provide the effective strategies for constructing reading schemata of senior high school students in order to improve English teaching, reading ability of students and their English integrated qualities. In the end, questionnaires are used to test whether these strategies can be feasible.First, this thesis states the definition of schema , its classification, and the relationship between schema theory and reading and then talks about what parts various schemata play in reading , from which the conclusion is that while reading, readers can use different types of schemata to read according to their language proficiency and different reading materials; Second, observations are made to see what is going on in the present reading class, which shows that because of some teachers'having no awareness to construct students'schemata, a large number of students don't possess necessary schemata and in turn can't understand the passage well; Third, the thesis develops the strategies to construct reading schemata for students: that is, teachers have to raise their awareness and transform their traditional roles, and try hard to teach reading, making use of extensive way, newspapers and information technology; Finally, questionnaires are used to find out how students receive those strategies and what teaching effects are obtained. The results from the survey read as follows:(1)Students accept all the mentioned strategies for constructing schemata, of which the extensive reading and the extension of the textbook are the most popular.(2)Every strategy achieves good teaching effects, especially the strategy of extensive reading gains the best teaching effects .
