This thesis explored the model of sport psychology services, including intervention methods, service models, professional implications and thoughts of sport psychologists at the Athens Olympic Game in the year 2004 using qualitative approach. 11 sport psychologists had been participated in the research. The following conclusion had been made:(1) With the psychological problems that the psychologists coping were: team building, stress management, communication/personal relationship, goal setting, cognitive restructuring, motor learning, low self-confidence, motivation, concentration and others. The major intervention methods involved in psychological skills training, counseling, systematic psychotherapy, communication techniques and role playing.(2)The process of the intervention could be divided into two types: need-oriented and task-oriented. On basis of understanding of the fundamental information, the psychologists implement individual and team consultation, mental training, psychological skill training, etc. The psychologists also need to change their goals with the challenges as the Games progressed.(3) The social supports the psychologists gained were mainly from the team managers, coaches and athletes. During the service process, 9 consultants acquired the social supports from the team managers, coaches and athletes.(4) The major service models of the psychologists were: Counseling Model, Psychological Skills Training Model (PST), Clinical Model, Interdisciplinary Sport Science Model and Supervisory Consulting Model With an Integrative Approach.(5) The psychologists considered that the most important professional...
