Teacher leadership education starts from 1980s under the background of new teacher education reform and now becomes a new trend of teacher education in the United States. The study of teacher leadership education is an important issue in the field of leadership education in the United States as well as in comparative education in China. But up to now the studies on this issue are not enough, and systematic studies about the history and current state of teacher leadership education are much less. On the base of summarizing the literatures about this issue, the thesis studies the history and current status of America's teacher leadership education with the methods of philological method, comparative method, case study method, analysis method, etc. This thesis aims at arousing scholars' attention on this issue and enriching the studies on the issue in China.This thesis falls into five parts:Part one takes a summery of the relevant literatures and puts forward the aim, methods and values of this thesis.Part two analyses the background of teacher leadership education and studies the history and current status of teacher leadership education.Part three studies three cases of teacher leadership education including their organizations, aims, contents, and implement approaches.Part four analyzes the characters, trends, effects and limitations of teacher leadership education.Part five draws conclusions, and puts forward the questions that should be studied in the future at last.
