Student counselor is playing a more and more important role in higher education, to which has been paid attention by the CPC central committee and social communities. Marked by the issue of 16th document "Opinions on Further Strengthening and improving the ideological and political education of college students", the development for counselors entered a new era. At present, there are three problems in the group building of counselors:First, there is too serious mobility for the group, and lack of stability; Second, some counselors are short of professional capability, so that they are always busy dealing with administrative trivialities, without providing guidance for students; Third, the group building for counselors is lack of systematic theory, and specific assurance system. From the perspective of this paper, the solution to these problems should focus on counselors' professionalization, taking professionalization as the integrative strategy for the counselors group, and the assurance systems should be established so as to promote the professional development for counselors.The paper is composed of Introduction, four chapters of main text and the last chapter Conclusion.The Introduction part mainly introduces the reason and significance of this research subject, as well as literature review and research scheme.Based on the creation, history and evolution of counselors, Chapter One reviews counselors' working responsibility, job features, constitution of knowledge and capabilities, so as to build the foundation for the study on counselors' professionalization.Combining the generally studies on profession with the career characteristics of counselors, Chapter Two initiates the criteria for counselors' professionalization. This part discusses the model of counselors' professionalization in the perspectives of structure-function school, conflict school and symbolic interactionism school under sociological theory, making response to the possibility of counselors' professionalization, and suggests that the professionalization begin with the establishment and improvement of the assurance systems.In chapter Three, the author discusses the assurance systems from the perspective of human resources management. It mainly studies on four system areas such as access, assessment, promotion and training. Based on the current practice and surveys, the author proposes some advice on the establishment and improvement of assurance systems for counselors' professionalization.The Conclusion sums up the focus and weakness of this dissertation. The author suggest that the public should correctly recognize the significance of counselors' professionalization, dialectically handling the difficulties encountered in the course of counselors' professionalization.
