Guided by modern teaching theories, the author has been engaged in teaching young learners English for many years, and this paper is a summary of her teaching experiences and her exploration of this special field.In the Introduction of the paper, the author briefly sums up the current situation of English teaching, and expounds the meaning and necessity of methodologial reform in English teaching to young learners. In the first part, the author illustrates her personal understanding about Activities Teaching Approach. Activities Teaching Approach is a new teaching theory and teaching method. From the turning stage when exam-oriented education turns into qualities education, on the basis of "Children-Centered" education thought and "Activities-Experience" curriculums. facing China's reforming realities, Activities Teaching Approach comes into being. It has its special intension. In the second chapter, the author analyses the essentialities and possibilities of carrying on Activities Teaching Approach with young learners. It is based on the Language Acquisition and Second Language Acquisition theories, absorbs the pith of Krashen and Terrel's Natural Approach, Asher's Total Physical Response and Curran's Community Language Learning, and combines with the characteristics of the neural and psychological traits of young learners and the teaching materials. Also, the requirement of "English new course standard of primary school of compulsory education" is another reason why we choose Activities Teaching Approach in teaching young learners. In the third chapter, the author summarizes how she puts the Activities Teaching theory into practice. Activity teaching Approach has four major principles: I Child-oriented development principle. II Emotional principle. III The rational teaching activities principle. III Accordant evaluation principle. Then it says about the procedures of teaching young learners with Activity teaching Approach: presenting, exercising, and practicing. At last, the author gives some teaching activities in English words teaching according to her own experiences.
