Metacognition is the self-consciousness, self-supervision and self-adjustment to the cognition activity by the individual. It is cognition about cognition. Generally, the metacognition structure includes knowledge, experience and supervision of metacognition. Metacognition enriches the theories related to psychology and plays an important role in developing the students' intelligence and solving the study problems. According to the researches, metacognition can not only help the students to absorb knowledge by transforming declarative knowledge to procedural knowledge, leading to right direction, stimulating their innovative consciousness and innovative ability but also motivate the students' interests, help students to make full use of their own study ability so as to improve the qualities of students. During the senior mathematics teaching, if the students master the metacognition ability, it will obviously improve the students' scores and their logic thoughts. As a result, the students will benefit a lot from this.Basing on the metacognitive theory, we attempt to research how to cultivate the students' metacognitive ability in mathematics learning in senior middle school. According to this circumstance and basing on the foundation education curriculum reformation, we combine with the conclusion of the cultivation of the metacognitive ability, consult the methods of the cultivation, put forward the strategy of the cultivation of students' metacognitive ability. And then we adopt the strategy in the mathematics classroom teaching. We arranged a control-class and a contrast-class. After one semester later, we took the second survey using the questionaire. The results of the statistics indicate that the developments of the two classes students' Metacognition ability are very distinctive and the control-class students' metacognitive ability improved apparently which means the cultivation of students' metacognitive ability is contribute to raise students' metacognitive level.The following conclusion can be drawn after exerting practice and experiment onmathematics teaching in higher school education: (1) The strategies of teaching, the way and method of teaching proposed in this paper are proven to be effective; (2) The improvement of metacognitive ability is remarkably helpful for students to get higher scores.In the course of cultivating and training the students'metacognition in mathematics teaching, we should pay attention to some questions as follows:(1) It is a long-term course of advancing gradually to cultivate and train metacognition, and we must not be anxious for success;(2) Pay attention to the feedback in time;(3) Attention should be paid to supervise and control the students'non-intelligence factors; (4)Pay attention to improving students' cognitive ability.In a word, to cultivate and train metacognition and to improve the students'cognitive ability in the senior mathematics teaching has its realistic significance.
