"School-based research"is the research carried out by school. Attaching importance to the cultivation of teachers'scientific research quality is the trend normal education and teacher education of different countries has followed since 1980s."Scientific research promoting schools"is the hot topic in China's educational field at the end of 20th century which reflects people's zealousness to transform schools'situation and practical activity. This paper discusses the strategy of implementing"school-based research"on the basis of analyzing the connotation, characteristic and implementing meaning of"school-based research". Taking a county-level key high school in China's western ethnic minority regions—Mashan High School in Mashan County of Nanning as the case study object, this paper analyzes"school-based research"in senior high schools of minority regions combing theory with practice and proposes rational reflection.The purpose of writing this paper is to conclude the successful experiences of"school-based research"in our school and explore measures for"scientific research promoting schools"along with other homogeneous schools of our country.This paper takes a county-level key high school in minority regions as the research case and adopts qualitative individual case research as the major method. Auxiliary research methods are as follows: experience summarization method, document study method, case study method, narrative research method and investigation method. Applying document study method can be good for the understanding of present situation of"school-based research"by the consultation of abundant documents and thus establish a basis for the research. The application of case analysis method can provide empirical material for the research through author's experience and objective analysis based on it. Investigation method can provide supportive material for the viewpoints the paper proposes by listing relative facts.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part is the basis of"school-based research"which mainly answers what is school-based research, what characteristics it has, what is the meaning for the implementing of it and introduces important theory on education, psychology, school construction and management, thereby provide theoretical basis for the implementing of school-based research."School-based research"can be understood as the scientific research carried out by school. To be concrete,"school-based research"is the scientific research carried out by school of basic education which takes the school's existing problems as the research object, aims at the improving of school works and takes individual developing in school as departure point and ultimate purpose so as to promote the harmonious development of school, its staff and students."School-based research"can be carried out aiming at all sorts of problems in school such as school-based teaching research, school-based management research, school-based culture research, school-based logistics service research, students psychological health problem research, school-based teacher cultivation research, students self management problem research and research on school-based research field and so on. Among them school-based teaching research is the core of"school-based research".The second part is the measures for implementing"school-based research". It includes: 1.the principles for the construction of efficient strategy of educational research; 2. number 1 efficient strategy: school leaders and teachers analyze school's present situation to determine the important subject for the school connotative development; 3. number 2 efficient strategy: school-based teaching method applies action research method; 4. number 3 efficient strategy: to cultivate school culture by institution. At present, it lacks the educational research strategy and experiences for practitioner to consult. The practice tells us that different regions, different school culture background, different researcher, different research level, different research subject determines that different research strategy should be adopted so no experiences can be copied. The construction of efficient strategy of educational research should follow two basic principles, e.g."adaptability"and"creativity".The third part is the case and analysis of"school-based research". Taking the implementing of school-based research which covers school education, teaching, management, culture and so on of Mashan High School as object, this paper discusses its research mode, method, means, measures and the cause for its good effect. The content is concrete. The experience is abundant. The example is touching and instructive. This part tells us: the key factors for Mashan High School's success is long history of school running, glorious revolutionary tradition, profound cultural foundation, unique geographical location, hardworking people, industrious students, dedicatory teachers, beautiful campus, comparatively complete teaching equipment, advanced ideas for running schools, scientific management, harmonious campus and deep scholastic atmosphere.The fourth part is the practical refection of"school-based research". Starting from the case of implementing school-based research, this part reflects the implementation of school-based research. It includes: 1.raising schoolmasters'and teachers'research quality: A. knowing its meaning is the primary task for research oriented schoolmaster; B. study and practical reflection is the route for research oriented teacher to raise their quality. 2.set up scientific evaluation and motivation system. A. establish evaluation system to promote teachers'professional development; B. set up flexible and efficient motivation measures."If a workman wants to do his work well, he must first sharpen his tools". Teachers should strengthen their educational theory study in advance of carrying out educational research. The promotional measures which satisfy teachers'need should encourage them to participate in school based research. For a school the monetary motivating resources are limited but the spiritual motivating resources are infinite by which the school manager can creatively design and apply.
