Currently, the separation of city and countryside leads the "city tropism" of education in our country. Leading by the idea that there are much value of things, turning the developing mode of countryside education from "chasing the city" and "being helped by others" to "enriching the connotation", which means actualizing "field teaching" in elementary and middle schools in Countryside, is an important way to bring the comparative predominance of countryside into play. And it can accelerate the development of the education and teaching in countryside. Thus, the predominance of countryside is selected as the cut-in point in the paper. The literature analytic method, the logical speculation method, induction and so on are used in the paper, with the knowledge of theory of curriculum, teaching and other subjects related. In this paper, the meanings and characters of "field teaching" are opened out. The history and development of "field teaching" are analyzed. And it provides the theoretical and technical direction for "field teaching", and it hopes to improve the teaching quality and to ameliorate teaching actuality of elementary and middle schools in Countryside.This article is divided into six parts:The first part: Foreword. It briefly introduced the reason of the research, the condition of the research in the past, the significance as well as the methods using in the research.The second part: The meanings and characters of "field teaching". It Analyzed the meanings of "field", "field teaching", and the characters of "field teaching" as well as the relations of field teaching and traditional teaching. The third part: The origin and development of field teaching .To realize the origin and development of field teaching by analyzing the history theoretically and practically.The fourth part: The basic idea of field teaching of elementary and middle schools in countryside. Education for all-around development, education for creativity, body and mind health, psychology of study are the polestar of "field teaching"; Bringing the comparative predominance of countryside into play, changing "city tropism" of education in countryside are the basic idea of "field teaching".The fifth part: The strategies that practicing the field teaching in countryside elementary and middle schools. The manipulative mode of bringing the field teaching into effect is proposed. They are resource, platform, form, strategy and principle.The sixth part: Concluding remark. It is a systemic project to bring the field teaching into effect. It will face many difficulties. The author hopes that more attention be paid and more research be come out to solve the problem which the rural education teaching development faces.
