Research On The Participation Of University Students In Politics During Social Transformation

The purpose of this study is to probe deeply into the college students'participation in politics. The research is done to the college students with the method of demonstration and experience under the frame of constructing Chinese social democracy and from the angle of view of Politics and Ideological and Political Education as well as sociology to find out how to enable the college students to attach themselves to the political activities and improve their social ability.First of all, after consulting and analyzing the documents related we find out what researches on common people's participation in political affairs have been done by the academia and what can we learn from their research and use it for reference. Our study is based on the political principle of Marxist theory to define the basic concepts and to introduce the main methods used in this research.Second, on the basis of field survey and with the descriptive analysis to current college students'participation in politics, we find out that the college students endowed with a wide knowledge of politics and a strong sense of participating into various political affairs, and it becomes more and more reasonable, practical and moderate. At the same time, there also exist some problems, such as: the uncertainty about the exact steps to participate, the great difference between their original desire and their behavior, their motivation to participate in politics with the aim of material gains, high-level orientation and great expectation.Besides, we find out that many factors will affect all the aspects of the students'participation in political activities, including participants themselves, family and society. Especially, their gender, political status, father's attitude towards the family members'participation, family background, social economic system, political development and cultural concept etc. All above will have a great influence on college students'participation in the political activities.The last but not the least, according to the main problems the students meet and their profound cause for them. We are sure that to persist on Marxist political education, to develop a culture to participate in politics, to make the system of student's interest expression perfect, to intensify the students'psychological adjustment to politics, to provide the students more space to participate in politics, to steer the students to participate in politics actively and orderly.
