Task- based language teaching(TBLT) is a teaching method that puts tasks at the center of the learning process as a set of communicative tasks that are directly linked to the curricular goals. It's a developing pattern of communicative teaching ideas for twenty years.At present, the educational circles of foreign language teaching pay more attention to task- based language teaching(TBLT).This paper takes domestic and overseas reseach background on task- based language teaching (TBLT) and the professional development of teachers, researching on the professional development program of middle-school English teachers under the background of the task- based language teaching (TBLT).Task-based language teaching (TBLT) puts forward new damands including professional knowledge, special ability, special spirit to promote the professional development program of middle-school English teachersThe professional development program of middle-school English teachers is a question for study of momentous current significance and theory significance. This paper analyses the present situation and question of the professional development program of middle-school English teachers on the base of questionnaire investigation method and visiting method. So put forward the value tactics and approach to promote the professional development of middle-school English teachers, more demands will be needed for the English Teachers' professional development.There are 6 parts in this paper: Part one, introduction. In this part, author shows the times, the background, the aims, and the procedure of the study, states method and basis of the theory.Part two, literature review.It analyses the development and the shortcoming of relative research abroad and at home, and demonstrates the main content and methods of this research.Part three, the new demands of the profession of middle-school English teachers under the background of the task- based language teaching (TBLT). The task- based language teaching (TBLT) demands the English teachers of middle-school have extensive knowledge and essential psychology of professional knowledge and so on ; have the adapting ability of changing the roles; have the ability of design assignment of teaching; have the special spirit of scientific research and make innovations and so on.Part four, the present situation and question of the professional development program of middle-school English teachers. On the base of questionnaire investigation method and visiting method, this paper analyses the present situation and question of the professional development program of middle-school English teachers.Part five, the value tactics and approach of promoting the professional development program of middle-school English teachers. Under the background of the task- based language teaching (TBLT), there are two value tactics and approach. One is the department of education and school provide chances of trainning teachers and renew educational ideas and so, which pave the way for the professional development program of middle-school English teachers from outside ; on the other hand , the teachers should improve theirs inherent quality to promote the professional development of middle-school English teachers.Part six, conclusion. In this part, author obtains the basic conclusion of this study.
