With the coming of the times of knowledge and economy, people have a common sense: the rise and fall of a country lies in education; civilization and prosperity lie in reading.The twenty-first centry is a century which is full of konwledge and information.It needs the ability to get information quickly in time. There is no doubt that reading is the most important way to achieve this goal. Reading teaching has long been an important part in Chinese teaching, but the current situation is not satisfying.The key to Chinese teaching reform should be the reform of reading teaching.'The New Course Standard for Senior Chinese(Tentative Edition).requires:Chinese teaching should create a good environment for students and help them to build up the consciousness of main body.The students should be trained to adjust their learning phychology and strategies according to their own characteristies and needs, so that they can quest for the good learning ways suitable for themselves.As a new way of learning ,the basic sense of learning on their own ,cooperation and probing should be like this :during the whole period of learning ,the students are the main bodies , that is masters ;Learning on their own should be a procedure where the students build knowledge actively, but not receive the ready-made knowledge. In other words, based on their own original knowledge and experience,students build the frame of new knowledge by processing, understanding and extracting the new knowledge. So it is meaningful to carry out the probing reading teaching in senior school.Its function and value are as follows:It can increase the sense of probing,cultivate the ability and the spirit of innovation,increase the interest of learning Chinese,deepen the experience of reading,form the habit of probing learning and better the ways of Chinese Learning.This experimental study ,based on psychology, pedagogy, reading study ,and the achievement of aesthetics and linguistics, is conducted to explain the basic concepts and features of probing reading teaching,to probe the related factors of the probing reading teaching,to analysis the current situation and reason of present reading teaching in senior school.So that we can better study the strategies of cultivating the ability of the students in probing reading.Also the related teaching experinment is carried out.The conciousness of probing learning,interest of Chinese learning,experience and ways of reading and the results of the examination are compared between experimental class and control class.As a result,theexperimental class has clear advantage over control class.
