With the wide and close exchange of technology and culture in the world , Increasing attention is being paid to English education . It is becoming more and more important to develop students' ability of communication in English. Students in senior school are demanded to reach a higer level in English writing on the basis of New Course Standard. However,the traditional teaching approach of writing, Product Approach, which has many disadvantages, is still used.In addition to their view of quick achievement by over drilling in Grade three, some teachers do not take writing teaching seriously during Grades One and Two, which leads to bad results. What is more, the language input of English is not enough.All these above make the students have a long way to achieve the goal of New Course Standard. So how to teach English writing is well worth discussing..First of all, problems in students' writing should be found out to improve their ability of writing. This paper analyses the students'errors in writing in the light of Language Transfer Theory and tries to seek a suitable and practical method of English writing,aiming at sharing my teaching experince and bringing more attention to writing teaching and research about English writing.The paper consists of four parts.The first part introduces briefly the significance and current situatoin of writing teaching and the teaching results.The second part mainly states the theories relevant to Language Transfer, such as Constrastive Analysis Hypothesis ,Error Analysis,Interlanguage Hypothesis and so on.At the same time , it reviews the reseaches on writing teaching at home and abroad. But most of the researches are about college students'writing or advanced learners.Therefore the research on the students' in senior school is not enough..Part Three is a vital part in the paper. The part first provides a variety of examples of common errors which students make in writing and then discusses and analyses the examples with the help of Language Transfer Theory.The last part combines the theory and personal experience to seek a method that can help improve the students'writing and make teaching effective. Meanwhile, more attention is expected to deepen research on English writing.
