In this paper, using document laws, video analysis, mathematical statistics etc., and takes 16 main force centers as the studied object in the 2006-2007NBA league tournament playoff first round competition, analyze the different type center group's in formation play technical utilization. The research result is: Although "running bang" tactical greatly respected in the NBA league, the center player's physical ability was had great enhanced, in the formation play, the scope of activities and athletic abilities have expanded has the expansion, but center's main attack region in near zone. The modern basketball technique and tactics' development set a higher request to the center player's technology. The different type's center group technology utilization already has something in co mmon, also has their own characteristic respectively. The different type center group has a litter difference in the technical utilization. In general, the pure high large-scale center group's technical utilization and the attack efficiency is best in the formation play; and the pure short-center group abdicates slightly; The pure common-center group's performance is worst; The part-time center group's height is between the pure common-center and the pure short-center, its performance is also between the two. Looking from the active area and the scope, the pure common-center group's performance is like the "Different Races".Finally, the article in accordance with the findings and trends of modern basketball development, proposes some corresponding recommendations for the center.
