Study On The Life Meaning Of Master Graduates In University

Based on the background of Chinese and Western theoretical and empirical study, using qualitative research method, centering on life meaning, this research conduct in-depth investigation on three master graduates in university.By in-depth interview and material analysis, the period of collecting data is from September 2007 to January 2008.The paper mainly presents their main life experience, their pursuit for life meaning, the actual state of their graduate life and their attitude and orientation under the governing of their life meaning.The research shows that, there are other relevant differences between interviewees who have the low life meaning and the interviewee who has the high life meaning. And this discovery shows the direction for the farther study on life meaning.First, there is difference on their self-consciousness between the two groups. The interviewees who have the low life meaning are apt to have passive self-consciousness, while the interviewee who has the high life meaning is apt to have positive self-consciousness.Secondly, there is difference on their life state between the two groups. The interviewees who have the low life meaning are apt to be in an idle state, while the interviewee who has the high life meaning can self-consciously and effectively keep himself away from the idle state.Thirdly, there is difference on their way of constructing life meaning between the two groups. The interviewees who have the low life meaning are apt to search life meaning from external, while the interviewee who has the high life meaning is apt to search it from inner, viz. life meaning return to individual life process itself.
