The Chinese classical poetry is a treasure that is worth unearthing. It not only reflects the ancient social life, but also displays our ancestors' happiness and anger, expectations and hopes, struggles with the pain, ideals and pursuits and so on complex emotions. Learning the classical poetry and deriving the nutrition from it is a very important aspect of carrying forward the Chinese nation's outstanding cultural tradition. This article in view of some teachers'simple treatment of ancient poetry teaching, treating the ancient poetry as the writings in classical style to teach, replacing the intuition comprehension by the rational analysis, the one-dimensional explanation substituting the multi-dimensional explanation, not manifesting the educational idea of "taking the students as the main body", inquires into some strategies for the effective classical poetry teaching. This article leads the students into the traditional cultural palace and raises the students' pure esthetic appeal and personalized explanation ability through the effective classical poetry teaching.After having pointed out the practical significance of Classical Chinese Poetry Instruction In Senior High School Under the New Curriculum Context,the article has analyzed the present poetry teaching situation and elaborated emphatically the classical poetry teaching strategy is to arouse the students' enthusiasm and initiative and to full feel, excavate, and comprehend the beauty of the classical poetry through reading aloud, the imagination, the association, savoring, the sensation, the appraisal and so on. As teachers, we must give students main body status in classical poetry reading process, respect the students' personalized explanation, let the students deepen the understanding of the poetry in talk and in the interaction, but must be good at holding the poetry "blank art" to explain. The article points out specially that respecting the students' personalized explanation does not mean echoing what the students say constantly , or affirmations and praises without the principle, "the individuality" is not equal to "being funny", the teachers' guidance function is essential. The article finally stresses that the Chinese teachers should read more, accumulate more, form the good cultural accomplishment, and enhance the classical poetry explanation ability. The teachers are the teaching executors, therefore, it would not be an exaggeration to say that regarding the classical poetry teaching, even if with the best strategy , if the teachers' classical poetry training is not proficient, they can be only armchair strategists.
