This paper is constituted of several parts, including the introduction, the rise of constructivism and philosophy of social science, the consequences of constructivism for philosophy of social science, etc. The introduction explains in detail, the paper's topic selecting, its major ideas, its outline, etc, as well as the main contents of its special subjects, clarifying its main concepts and its main standpoints. Following the clue of social constructivism, the paper aims to outline the basic philosophical views on philosophy of social science, and to resume critical and guiding functions of social science and philosophy of social science.In chapter one, the paper analyzes the rise of constructivism and philosophy of social science. In perspective of social constructivism, theoretical roots of philosophy of social science are discussed, theoretical roots including enlightenment thought, modernism, post-modernism.In chapter two, the paper discusses the developing thought of constructivism and philosophy of social science in four dimensions. First, considering the scientific views in terms of constructivism, it discusses the scientific views of sociology of knowledge as well as post-modernist feminism. Second, considering practical views in terms of constructivism, it elaborates the practical thoughts on philosophy of social science, by comparing Boudieu's practical theory with Giddens' constructivism. Third, considering the truth views in terms of constructivism, it discusses the elimination of truth objectivity and its ubiquitous criteria, and the reinterpretation of the relativity of truth, etc. Fourth, considering views of life in terms of constructivism, it discusses the rise of collectivism, the penetration of thought on harmony, the new interpretation of social problems, the re-identification of humans themselves, reflections on the concept of the re-establishment.In the chapter three, it discusses the consequences of constructivism for philosophy of social science in term of epistemology, methodology and ontology, and makes it clear the importance of viewing philosophical thoughts in the perspective of constructivism.In the end, it discusses that constructivism, as a new perspective, shows its uniqueness and its significance to the development of philosophy of social science. Second, it points to the drawbacks of constructivism and how to conquer them. Finally, it discusses the prospects of philosophy of social science and its significance to social development.
