Looked from the world soccer powerful nation success experience as well as the emerging soccer country fast progress development that, they all without one exception extremely take the reserve talented person's raise work. Facts have proved that, without a solid foundation of the reserve personnel, without an endless talent force in sports competition will be placed. Then, how can we improve Chinese level of youth soccer? The main factor lies in the grass roots, school sports teachers and instructors teaching level. As a training base for future soccer talents, an optional specialized course of soccer (hereinafter called as soccer specialized course ) in physical education (P. E. ) specialty of general colleges and universities bears the responsibility of cultivating qualified soccer talents. The quality of course practice has a direct effect on the developing goals of brains of football in college P. E. major. Therefore, the soccer specialized course is very important to the Chinese soccer development.According to some relevant spirit of "the P. E. Curriculum for the National Institutes of Higher Learning" in 2003 and "Teaching Guidance Outline of Physical Education Major for the National Institutes of Higher Learning" in 2004 by China's Ministry of Education, this paper, through the investigations by questionnaire and interview with the students and teachers of soccer specialized course in physical education specialty of five general colleges and universities: Northeast Normal University, Jilin Normal University, Changchun Normal Institute, Yanbian University, as well as Jilin Institute of Physical Education, and with the mathematical statistics method, comparative analysis, and inductive method, classifies and analyzes the aspects of talents training aims and specifications, the proportion of teaching hours, the use on the textbooks, the selection of teaching contents, the professional teachers, the teaching conditions, and the employment of soccer specialized students, with the help of many works on teaching and training theories and statistics, and many research achievements of the training target in universities, teaching content reform, the curriculum design, and the research domain of soccer.The results show that the current soccer specialized course in physical education specialty of general colleges and universities in Jilin Province is designed dominantly to improve the students' sporting technical level, while to learn the traning and teaching theories, and to know the science research knowledge just play the subsidiary roles in terms of the training aims. The differences of the professional teachers, the teaching conditions, and the proportion of teaching hours of soccer specialized courses in different universities and colleges cause an unbalanced development among occer specialized course in physical education specialty of general colleges and universities in Jilin Province. The lack of the depth and width of the textbook and the disjointedness between the teaching contents and the learners' needs can not meet the demands of teachers and students. Teachers' specialized technical levels generally satisfy the students, but their teaching methods and forms remain stiff and monotonous, which neglect the cultivation of abilities of soccer teaching. The place and equipment for soccer specialized course in most general colleges and universities are good enough for teaching and learning requirements. At the ssame time, student's individual difference in football technique causes the polarization, affecting teaching quality and effect, which lead to the differences in enthusiasm and participation. multi-media are hardly used in class, thus the teaching quality will be directly reduced accordingly. Teachers' professional titles are reasonable, however, the staff are relatively aging, and the proportion of higher educational background faculty is low. This paper puts forward some suggestions according to existing problems: adjusting curriculum aim to help the students develop balancely; improving the quality of soccer textbook to make it suitable for this course; reforming the teaching model and evaluating in view of an all-round examination to establish a comprehensive teaching evaluation system of soccer specialized course; fostering firmly a more scientific education thought to enrich and enlarge the soccer sducation teaching methods; perfecting the teaching conditions to make better the soccer experimental teaching for both teachers and students; emphasizing the overall quality of faculty's cultivation and improvement; realizing the harmony and unification between the learners' integrated competence and the social demand.
