The most essential part in the teaching of fraction is the teaching of concepts.It is an important extention of the concepts of numerals to introduce the concepts of fraction to primary schools.It has been proved in the long-term teaching practice that this part is still a difficult point for pupils.Since the connection of teaching practice and profound theoretical study should be an important method and necessary guard to coursebook compiling,the writer here stands up with three questions for the teaching systems of concepts in fraction,as is inspired after his front in teaching.Question 1:How to help students better understand the two kinds of meaning of fraction.Question 2:Is it necessary to present the definition of fractional units in a coursebook and introduce unit fraction?Question 3:What's proportion and how to help students improve their knowledge of its concept and strategy? Is nature of proportion replaceable to nature of fraction? Adopting the methods for document study and comparative study,this paper,led by the three questions above,has a comparative analysis of teaching "introduction of fraction","meaning of fraction","the basic nature of fraction", "the meaning and nature of proportion",on the basis of the three coursebooks published by People's Education Press,Beijing Normal University as well as Jiangsu Education Press.His reflecion on the above-mentioned questions and advice for improving coursebook compiling also bases itself in theory of maths teaching in primary school.It is hoped that the paper will help teachers to understand,improve and make better use of the coursebooks,absorbing the merits from each.What's more,it means to make fraction concepts teaching better.In a word, the paper means to make best use of coursebooks in teaching.
