The research on learning styles and learning strategies has been proved more and more important in EFL classroom.The thesis attempts to explore the language learning styles and strategies of the learners based on vocational school students to identify whether there are significani differences in the language learning style and strategy preferences between different learners and identify whether there is a relationship between students' language learning style and strategy preferences.There are 303 vocational students in Guangdong Province were assigned to complete a questionnaire which used to identify students' language learning style preferenees and students' language learning strategies.All data were collected and analyzed by means of SPSS 13.0.Statistical analysis of the questionnaire revealed that:(1)The students of vocational school prefer most to visual,auditory,extroverted, closure-oriented,global and analytic styles;(2) The third year students favor the visual and the auditory styles;the second and third years prefer the introverted learning style;boy students are more opened than the girl students;(3)Students using English learning strategies are in the medium level,the overall using frequency is not high;(4) the frequency of English learing strategies that girl students using is higher than the boy students;the high-achievers use more strategies than the low-achievers;(5) The relationship between language learning styles and strategies had significant relationships with each other.The findings prove to be beneficial for both the students at different levels and the English teachers,because the findings may raise teachers' awareness concerning their own learning and teaching styles.In teaching practices,educator should help students learn how to learn by providing guidance for using proper learning strategies in different situations and environments. This particularly critical to ensure the sueeess of the learners in English learning.
