In chapter 1, the necessity of the longitudinal research for the same version of textbook is specified. Then, the senior high school mathematical elective textbook of series 1 and 2 that is published by Hunan Education Publishing House is investigated from six aspects, which are the idea of education, the essence of mathematics, the mental characteristics of students, the suitability of teachers, the selection of material and the ideal of culture. The creation in the thesis is also explained in this chapter. These two directions are the critical research in the thesis.In chapter 2, the theoretical basis of textbook research is analyzed from the definition of textbook principle and the method of textbook research.In chapter 3, according the analysis of the characteristic of mathematical course, the requirement of senior high school mathematical textbook from 'Senior High School Mathematical Curriculum Standard (Experiment)' and the definition of the senior high school mathematical textbook, the research direction and request of senior high school mathematical textbook is summarized.In chapter 4, the detailed contents in the senior high school mathematical elective textbook of series 1 and 2 that is published by Hunan Education Publishing House are reviewed and analyzed from eight special subjects, which are derivative and its application, conic section and equation, space vector and solid geometry, block diagram, frequently-used logic term, reasoning and proof, extensions of numbers' system & complex number and counting principle, statistics and probability and typical case of statistics.In chapter 5, the research conclusions for the elective textbook of series 1 and 2 are obtained from six aspects, which are the idea of education, the essence of mathematics, the mental characteristics of student, the suitability of teacher, the selection of material and the ideal of culture.Finally, the significance of research conclusions for the teachers in experimental area, the recension of textbook and the integrity of courses' standard is indicated and the deficiency of research and the problems which are needed to be sequentially researched are analyzed.
