Chemical concept is the network "nodes" of chemical knowledge. Grasping the concept of chemistry well not only makes chemical knowledge systematically, but also contributes to the understanding of chemical changes and the law of the intrinsic link. Therefore, the concept's teaching in the chemical study is of great significance. In this paper, by using the modern experimental tools named "Hand-held Technology", a experimental teaching is designed to study the cognitive characteristics and the laws of high school students about chemical concept acquisition, who are in a technology-based teaching and learning environment."Acid-base titration and neutralization" is not only a typical experimental system in high school, but also an important system of concept, involving neutralisation , acid-base titration principle, titration curves, titration jump, range of jump, acid-base indicator, color range of the indicator, the end point of titration ,etc. It is found in the teaching process that students often produce some misconceptions regarding "acid-base titration and neutralization" and correlative concept, and it is very difficult for students to grasp these concepts correctly even after the teachers teaching the concepts repeatedly or by other means. So in this thesis, the typical "acid-base titration and neutralization" teaching which learning capability is large is selected to study high school student's cognitive level of the chemical concept based on hand-held technology. The thesis is based on the the summarization of the literature and study high school student's cognitive level of chemical concepts acquisition by the empirical method, there are two empirical studies:·Study 1: the comparative study about the differences in high school students's cognitive level of chemical concepts acquisition.·Study 2: how the hand-held technology influences high school students's cognitive level of chemical concepts acquisition. The study 1 designs " neutralisation and acid-base titration test paper ",and 24 high students were tested after the classroom lectures, group training, the implementation of experiment.By the using test and interviews, students' cognitive process of chemical concepts acquisition is explored and analysed, focussing on the discussion and comparison of the cognitive differences in chemical concepts acquisition between the students in the experimental group in which hand-held technology is used and in control group which using traditional experimental tools; Study 2 is based on "POE" model to design "the students' work lists in a single experiment", and 12 high students are tested in the study. By analysing work lists, observing the experiment process and comparing the records, the hand-held technology's influence on student conception acquisition is further explored. The full text uses literature, experimentation, observation, interviews and other methods, to explore the internal thinking process of students from a cognitive point of view, in-depth to study students' cognitive characteristics of chemical concept acquisition in the environment which having hand-held technology, to reveal the students' cognitive law of chemical concept acquisition on the basis of the different types of students' cognitive performance, to explore the cognitive characteristics of chemical concept acquisition based on the hand-held technology, and to provide related research with paradigm.
