Wuhan City College Students Survey Conducted In The Legal Awareness

The report of the Seventeenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China says:" Comprehensively implement the rule of law as a fundamental principle and speed up the building of a socialist country under the rule of law."Chairman Hu Jingtao insists that a harmonious socialist society we are building is democracy and rule by law, equity and justice, honesty and fraternity, vigor and vitality, stability and order, and harmony between man and nature. The harmony social society is a democracy and rule of law country virtually. Cultivating of modern citizen legal value and promoting modernization of citizen legal awareness have become the necessary important part in "the rule of law" principle and the basic project in construction of a socialist country under the rule of law.College students are the pillars in our future society and the hope of China's development. Their legal awareness and level of law cogitation affect to social legal process. Comprehension the actuality of the legal awareness and cultivation modern awareness of law with Chinese characters in college students play significant roles in social legal construction. College student legal awareness, including the legal knowledge, obedience, evaluation and look forward to the inner experience, is the country's socialist legal awareness of the important components. It has modern socialist legal awareness of the basic contents and features; it also has its own characteristics.This paper chooses students whose major is not law randomly from six colleges in Wuhan: Wuhan University, Huangzhong Normal University, Hubei University, Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Wuhan Metallurgical Manager's Institute, Wuhan Engineering Institute. A total of 615 questionnaires were sent out, 605 were recovered, the recovery rate was 98.4%, 592 valid questionnaires were 97.9% efficient. Through nearly six parts 40 asked for The basic situation, law cogitation, law appliance, awareness of right, legal mentality and legal education. On the basis of SPSS statistical analysis software, found the common characters are as follows: utilities in law, intensive right awareness but lack of awareness in constitution, rise in law learning but different contrast in legal practice, weak legal mentality and lack of law faith.From the analysis of reasons in college students characters in law consciousness, some countermeasures to improve college student awareness in law are introduced: enhance college legal education to improve student's legal quality, intensify legal cultural construction to build good three-dimensional legal atmosphere, constitute law and morality "two-way integral" social law faith system.
