In order to implement the"the CPC Central Committee and State Council on the further views of strengthening and improving ideological and moral construction"and"The CPC Central Committee and State Council on the views of strengthening and enhancing young people's physical fitness". The national ministry of education organized and created the first collective dances in the primary and secondary schools and promoting the collective dances to primary and secondary schools around the country in September 1st, 2007. The collective dances at the campuses can improve the students'qualities and their aesthetic tastes of civilization; can develop students'movements,coordination,sense of rhythm, and their physical fitness; and also can improve their spirits of collectivism, senses of cooperation and their communication capacities. It is good for forming students'cheerful and optimistic personalities.This paper analyzes the causes and provides the relevant countermeasures and suggestions, by using research method of documentary, investigation, visit, and statistics and so on. The research provides a new angle for solving the problem of improving collective dances in schools for the education sectors in Chongqing.The research indicates that the major factors affecting the development of the collective dances in Chongqing schools are both Subjective and objective factors. The subjective factors are as follows: Schools do not attach importance to carry out the collective dances; the teachers'awareness of carrying out collective dances is so weak; students'awareness of collective dances is still very weak. The Objective factors are the lack of teachers, the low teaching levels of collective dances, the limited space and so on.
