Subjective well-being is a global assessment of a person's quality of life according to his own criteria. It includes both affective affections and cognitive satisfaction judgments. This article studies the subjective well-being of self-study students on the base of the definition, different research period, kinds of theories and the tractors that affect it. In the research, 190 self-study students in shanghai were chosen as subjects and 124 undergraduates in shanghai were chosen as control group in our questionnaire survey with subjective well-being scale, life quality scale and affection balance scale. By analyzing the findings, the conclusion comes as follow:(1)The level of self-study students' subjective well-being is lower than the undergraduates.(2)The level of adult self-study students' subjective well-being is lower than full-time self-study students.(3)Self-study students' subjective well-being shows significant difference in area and economic quality level, but no difference in gender and singleton or not.(4)Self-study students' subjective well-being is significant correlative with life quality and affection balance. Regression analysis shows that with life quality and affection balance, we can forecast 26.7% subjective well-being.Besides, we search factors that may affect subjective well-being of self-study students by qualitative research. And we find that in those tactors there are how much the public accept self-study students, the relationship between self-study students and their family members, scholastic achievement, employment pressure and working pressure and state of mind.when faced to difficulties.
