Nowadays the employment problem of graduates becomes more severe, especially for the higher vocational college graduates at the bottom of the system of higher education. The improvement of popularization of China's higher education is mainly depending on the scale expansion of higher vocational education, so we should pay more attention on the issue of factors influence on employment and try to explore some effective strategies to improve employment. It will be in favor of the sustainable development of higher vocational education.With the survey data on the employment of 390 higher vocational college graduates from 4 colleges in different cities, the authtor raises 3 hypotheses based on the human capital theory and social capital theory, and then chooses the multiplex Linear Regression model and Binary Logistic regression models, analyses the effects of human capital and social capital on the employment of graduates. The result indicates that both human capital and social capital have significant influence on graduates' employment. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) majors, attribute of college, grades, the order in all children, father's job and mother's educational level have significant influence on desire for salary;(2)location of college, majors, attribute of college, grades, the level of satisfaction at college life, mother's job, family income, age and salary desire have significant influence on the graduate 's choice ---to find a job or to go on their study;(3)majors, attribute of college, family location, mother's educational level, family income and the number of interviews have significant influence on graduates' employment;(4)attribute of college, when begin to practice, sex, age and desire for salary have significant influence on the first salary;(5)location of college, attribute of college, level of satisfaction at college life, the number of interviews, the number of firms where graduates take part in practice, age and desire for salary have significant influence on whether graduates will find a job according with his major;(6) location of family, when begin to hunt a job, when begin to practice in firm, the number of firms in which graduates take part in practice and age have significant influence on the level of satisfaction at employment.In future this study will be preceded depending on further interviews to explore those questions in detail. What's more, the conclusion of this study has been given based on limited survey data, so it will be limited to generalize more concrete conclusion.
