Teacher professional development should be a dynamic and continuous process through the whole career life. Whether beginning teachers successfully realize the transformation from student of teaching to eligible teacher in inductive period will influence not only their occupational orientation and permanence, but also their professional development pattern in whole career. In this crucial phase, beginning teachers have their own characteristics and demands. In order to help the young teachers to adapt to the teacher role as soon as possible and prepare for realizing sustainable development of teacher profession, it is necessary to cross this crucial period of development through a set of comprehensive, target-oriented, operable Induction Program for beginning teachers.Induction Program based on the career development is a theory that help new teachers to deal with the difficulties and problems, realize role transformation as soon as possible and reach the sustainability of teacher career development based on stages of career development theory and the characteristics of beginning teachers by providing beginning teachers with planned systematic training and learning process assistance. This research aims to build Induction Program, which include basis of building, main content and its implementation modalities, the organization and management system, the way of evaluation and the perspective of incentives, deduced from career development characteristic, the demand of university beginning teacher and the status quo of Induction Program development. A complete set of tailor-made Induction Program is established for beginning teachers.The thesis consists of four chapters following a rigorous consecution:Chapter I: Introduction. This thesis genesis,researching ideas and method and the actuality and problems in recently research are introduced in this Part,as well as definitions for several important relative conceptions. Chapter II: characteristics and demands of colleges and universities beginning teacher career development. The characteristics and demands of the stage of career development for colleges and universities beginning teacher are investigated by analyzing their professional development situation, growth experiences and the impact factors of career development.Chapter III: The analysis of Induction Program for colleges and universities beginning teacher. The analysis of history and current situation of Induction Program for colleges and universities beginning teacher were carried out to find the existing problem of current Induction Program.Chapter IV: Building Induction Program for colleges and universities based on career development. A complete set of tailor-made Induction Program provide for beginning teachers were established, which contains the build of basis, main content and its implementation modalities, the organization and management system, the way of evaluation and the perspective of incentives of Induction Program totally five parts.The primary contribution and innovation of the thesis is that a set of relatively complete Induction Program were established for college and university beginning teachers by analyzing the characteristics and demands of their career development and the problems of current Induction Program.
