Under the direction of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, with the approaches of theoretical analysis and field survey, the article analyzes systematically the theory and evolution process of the relation between education and religion, analyzes the knowledge about the relation between relation and education among university students of ethnic nationalities in Xinjiang basing upon the previously designed questionnaire, and introduces the original viewpoint and thinking. Through analyzing the evolution process of the relationship between education and religion, the article points out the necessity of our policy about parting education from religion. Through investigates university students in Xinjiang, reveal the present situation on the knowledge about the relation between religion and education among university students in Xinjiang. First, there are differences in the knowledge about the relation between education and religion among students from different nationalities, different districts and classes. Because of the impact of national culture, students of different nations have different religious feelings, especially a strong religious sense of the nationalities, special religious feelings impact them to understand the relation between education and religion; Because of their geographical environment, students who come from different districts have different understanding about the relation between education and religion. Second, there are obvious differences in the knowledge about the relation between education and religion among students who have learned and who haven't learned the course of scientific atheism. Students who have learned scientific atheism courses can better understand China's religious policy, and are better able to deal with the issue of religious behavior.The article points out the problem of the knowledge about the relation between religion and education among university students in Xinjiang. First, practical university students can't understand correctly our policy of religion. They do not understand why we are going to implement the policy about parting education from religion, and do not understand why the policy of religious freedom in our country also doesn't require students to become religious believer. Second, partial university students can't treat with the behavior on religion correctly. They do not know what behavior is typical of religious behavior, the students do not know how to do it, and do not know how to deal with a number of religious behaviors. The article elaborates the cause of formation: restriction of social development, political factors, the factors of national literature and university student own quality. Adverse political environment (such as: Religious extremism and Ethnic separatist who use religion start permeation to the field of education, and attempt to compete for the education of territories with us.) affected the university students to understand the relation between education and religious correctly.Basing on the problem and the cause of formation, the article puts forward suggestions and the ways to deal with the situation: strengthening the teaching of Marxist view on religion to university students; guiding university students to understand correctly the optical surroundings; advancing the quality of teacher; upgrading the effect of party members and members of the Communist youth league of China among university students.
