Analysis On The Factors Of Scoring And Losing Points Of Chinese Men's Volleyball Team In Beijing Olympic Games

Scoring and losing points of volleyball tournament is a sign for a team's technical-tactical level and the degree of match performance. In this paper, in order to gain a deeper understanding and awareness of the factors of scoring and losing points, use video observation, mathematical statistics, comparative analysis method, B. E. P evaluation method and other research methods, From the point of view of victory or negative set, Different stages of each set, successive gains and losses, and each service round, study of the Chinese men's volleyball competitions in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Conclusions were as following:(1).In Beijing Olympic Games, there is very significant differences in The ability to score between the Chinese men's volleyball team with the opponents. Attacking, blocking, serving scores were lower than the opponents. The average number of turnovers between the Chinese men's volleyball team and the opponents are similar. However, with the United States, Brazil match, the turnovers of Chinese men's volleyball more than the opponents were 3.7 points and 2.6 points.(2). In the victory or negative set, the ability to score of the Chinese men's volleyball team are similar. There are very significant differences in the ability to blocking scores between the victory and negative set. The average numbers of turnovers, between the victory and negative set, have a significant difference. The number of errors in each bureau, serving is the largest proportion of errors and the rest were:offensive mistakes, blocking errors and other errors.(3). The scores in the opening stages and the end stages between the Chinese men's volleyball team and the opponents are similar. But there are very significant differences in the middle stages. In the victory sets, the scores in the opening stages of the Chinese men's volleyball team are more than the opponents. (4). In the victory sets, the Chinese men's volleyball team has 6.5 runs, the opponents have 3.8 runs; in the negative set the Chinese men's volleyball team has 2.6runs, the opponents have 7.1 runs. There are very significant differences in the ability of successive scoring between the Chinese men's volleyball team with the opponents.(5). In the victory sets, the scores of each service rounds between the Chinese men's volleyball team and the opponents are similar; in the negative set, The scores of the second, third, fourth and sixth service rounds are more lower than the opponents.(6). Use the B. E. P evaluation method to study the Chinese men's volleyball competitions in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. We found the ability to score is the weak link in China's men's volleyball team. And there are a high number of offensive and service errors.
