Currently, there are much more people studying the students' satisfaction in the undergraduate colleges, specialist colleges and vocational institutions, but there're less studying it in independent institutes. Shaanxi is one of the most important educational provinces in China and there are more than 40 public colleges and 9 independent institutes in Xi'an. These independent colleges develop rapidly. The number of the students is increasing and the size of the institute is extending. However, at the same time they are suffering an environment of the lack of external and internal support for the plight of the lack of resources. But meanwhile, they still play an important role achieving the popularization of higher education and deepening the reformation of higher education.In the process of the popularization of higher education, the competition in enrolling new students is becoming serious. College students(Consumers) is becoming more conscious of customer satisfaction. As a new thing, how to satisfy students and how to survive in the fierce competition is becoming realistic. Only do the independent colleges understand the students' need and know the students'satisfaction of the college service well. Under this circumstances, this study attempts to conduct an independent college study of the students'satisfaction surveys, using a college in Xi'an for example.We can get the following conclusions by analyzing, researching and studying:1. Customer satisfaction theory is applicable to higher educationHigher Education Service has four remarkable features as well as some characteristics differing from other services. It's complex, long-term, and professional and so on. However, the process of running an independent college school is also a service process to students. Students are the direct customers of the college. That is to say, customer satisfaction theory is applicable to the field of higher education. 2. It's an effective way to understand the internal management of colleges according to the study of college students'satisfaction.Students'satisfaction is a very useful tool to manage universities by people. It's really reliable to get indexes of all college services and students'satisfaction by testing students' satisfaction. College students'satisfaction is a comprehensive, multi-level figure. Colleges can analyze the internal management and external environmental issues by studying it. And then, they can take practical measures to gradually improve teaching, managing, directing. If the do so, the work may carry out orderly.3. The results of testing the independent college students'satisfaction.Although the undergraduates of an Xi'an independent college are satisfied with the college on the whole, it still needs to strengthen the teaching services, library services, students' management and supporting services and so on.In accordance with the various reflection of survey, this paper bring up some suggestions and measures to deal with how to improve the students'satisfaction, such as improving their popularity, adjusting priority of strategy, re-allocating the educational resources, strengthening internal management systems and improving the teaching standard on every aspects and so on.
