The Sixteenth National Party Congress put forward a comprehensive goal of building a moderately prosperous society. Develop rural human resources vigorously is an important part in building a moderately prosperous society. To develop human resource needs of rural basic education, adult education and vocational education in rural areas. None is indispensable. In 2006, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council put forward integrating of a variety of educational resources in rural areas, developing rural vocational education and adult education. After putting forward the task of building a harmonious society and a new socialist countryside, rural vocational education increasingly appears tremendous economic and becomes the focus of attention. It is necessary to strengthen the rural vocational education research to develop vocational education in rural areas. However, compared to other types of education, there are less papers and monographs about rural vocational education study currently. Since the founding of the past 60 years, China's rural vocational education has experienced earth-shaking changes. Based on objective historical facts, the study combs the development process of the rural vocational education, sums up the distinctive characteristics of China, dredges up the outstanding problems and tries to provide references for present rural vocational education reform.This thesis attempts to shift to a new perspective of the rural vocational education's development process, using document analysis and historical research methods. There are three chapters.The first part presents three phases of rural vocational education in China are reviewed the development course of 60 years: Service in the restoration and development of agriculture (1949-1978); Service in the comprehensive development in the rural economy (1978-2000); Service in training new rural farmers (2001 - today).The second part summarizes the development of rural vocational education:1.The promoting but slow progress in the whole development; 2.Unbalanced development of regions; 3.Combine the school education and production practice; 4.Rely on the government as a whole while joint social forces.The third part summarizes six years to new rural vocational education development achievements and problems. Achievement of rural vocational education mainly includes three as the unprecedented development, cultivating a large number of high quality labors and special talent, guarantee system improvement. The problems include: Main demand of rural vocational education is very low; The guarantee systems are imperfect; Rural vocational schools reform backward; Educational quality is not high.The fourth part, based on the former part of the existing problems in rural vocational, jointed present practical, the paper puts forward three suggestions: Changing ideas, relying on rural areas; Sounding safeguard mechanism and improving the living environment; Strengthening self-construction of rural vocational schools.
