At present,our new curriculum reform of elementary education, started at the turn of century, is at the stage of full promotion and implementation. Many new ideas in this reform,like school-based curriculum, curriculum integration, flexible curriculum, the emphases of multiculturalism, decantation and etc, are coincidently related to post-modern thoughts. In a certain sense, it reveals far-reaching impact of the post-modern curriculum perspective on our curriculum's reform. Therefore,it has an important theoretical and practical significance for our contemporary curriculum reform to understand and introduce post-modern curriculum perspective.From the perspective of existing research on current curriculum reform in China, we can conclude that the attitudes towards the post-modern curriculum has entered into a mistaken idea, even in extreme. In fact, these understandings are not correct. We should regard post-modern perspective on curriculum dialectively, and regard rationally and objectively the influence on the curriculum reform.The significance of this study lies in overcoming the bias of the previous studies on the post-modern perspective on curriculum, regarding the post-modern perspective on curriculum in a rational view, and revealing objectively its impact on China's reform of elementary education. It can make the development of China's curriculum theory run well in the western and eastern cultural background, make good use of the positive and active factors of post-modern perspective on curriculum and western educational ideas on the basis of our own situation to constantly improve China's reform of elementary educational, hence making it develop in the positive direction.Full-text is divided into three parts:In the first part, it makes an objective evaluation and interpretation of the post-modern perspective on curriculum from its background, type and characteristics, understands totally post-modern perspective on curriculum, laying the foundation for the next part.The second part is the key of the full text. It analyzes intensively the effect of post-modern perspective on curriculum for our new curriculum reform. The analysis in this area to be discussed mainly from two aspect. The positive factors of the post-modern perspective on curriculum provides referencial materials for our curriculum theory and practice. For instance, Flexibility in setting curriculum programs, classroom teaching model of openness, diversity of student learning and etc, provide a new view to our curriculum reform. On the other hand,Post-modern perspective on curriculum is not perfect; the complexity of education also determines its own inherent deficiencies of post-modern perspective on curriculum. Therefore, we should explore its limitations, as well as exploring the positive impact on the new curriculum reform. This will help us to discard the dross and select the essence of"the contemporary western theory","revise"continually"the new curriculum reform", assure the smooth implementation of the new curriculum reform, and avoid unnecessary losses and detours.In the third part, some necessary problems on our elementary education reform are discussed in the view of the post-modern perspective on curriculum. In the reform, we should correctly handle the relations between traditional curriculum idea and modern curriculum idea, inheritance and development, stages, and so on. In order to promote our curriculum reform, we also have to clarify some misunderstandings.
