| Considering the complicated background that the profound changes in China's economic system, social structure and intellectual concepts, the fundamental restructuring of the pattern of social interests, and the new situation and the new characteristics of increasing frequency of intellectual and cultural exchanges, the values of college students as a social consciousness, depending on the reality of social existence,will change with the society's change. As the country's future, the college students'value is not only related to themselves'idea of life, but also to the country's development and future. In this paper, started with the theoretical of value and the situation of contemporary college students,the write carried out the system of socialist core values'construction function for building the contemporary college students value, based on the analysis of the causes of contemporary college students value's characteristics. The paper involving with three parts: Firstly, the write define the basic concepts of value and values and briefly analyzes the characteristics of contemporary college students'values. Thoroughly describe the new characteristics of contemporary college students'value orientation,to find out the problems exist in the contemporary college students'value orientation. Secondly, the write described the various factors that effect the formation of contemporary college students, such as the value subjectivity in philosophy perspective, and the college students'value orientation in globalization view, and the college students in social transformation sight,and also the college students'values in generation visual. In the final part, the write analysis the construction function of the system of socialist core values to build up the values of contemporary college students, that thoroughly study the political stance , ideals and beliefs, patriotism and morality of contemporary college students guided by four main elements of the system of socialist core values.
