With the development of society, more and more people join the volunteer services of business. Volunteers have become very important human resources of non-profit organizations, and are essential for the development of the power of non-profit organization. What is the motivation caused person to participate in volunteer acts of non-profit organizations?By reviewing related conclusions of the literature and some scholars draw on volunteer motivation theory research, author design a semi-structured interview outline, to conduct a more in-depth interviews with 10 volunteers who engaged in nearly three months non-profit organizations volunteer service in Beijing. Based on author interviews combined with research purposes and the previous successful scales used; the author worked out a scale found in this study. In some non-profit organizations in Beijing, the author took non-probability sampling (mainly with the occasional and snowball) method to 330 at least participant in the volunteer service once within three months. 330 respondents were interviewed through simple random sampling and SPSS 16.0 was used for statistical analysis, reliability analysis, and validity analysis.The study findings: the volunteers'motivation in non-profit organizations of Beijing are identified six voluntary participation domains, namely contribution, achievement, personal engagement, learning, organizational recognition and unintended following. Ranking among respondents from our study revealed as: learning, contribution, psychological achievement, personal engagement, organizational recognition and unintended following. Result of this study reflected gender and family of origin are all insignificant. In the reverse, learning, age, academic attainment, occupation and income are all significant factors towards voluntary involvement. From the findings of this study, ways to intervene actively to enlist voluntary participation are recommended with considerations of the motivation factors, characteristics of voluntary involvement.
