Research On The Skills And Tactics Of World Top Professional Women Tennis Player

Literature review, experts interview, video observation and mathematical statistics were adopted in this paper, and theory research results about table tennis and badminton which are in a dominant position in China were referred. The objects of this study were 12 matches among the last four and three matches among the last eight in 2009, 2010 Australian Open and 2008, 2009 US Open. The abstract matches are made quantitative analysis based on the technique and tactics used in the matches, the frequency of occurrences and termination, the distribution of win and loss and the space feature while technique and tactics are used. The features of the women professional tennis players'technique and tactics are discussed and the development tendency is proposed. The research results demonstrate:1. the technical character of outstanding women professional tennis players1) Frequency distribution feature of each beat is:56% points are finished in four go-around, and 72% points are finished in the first six go-around. Comparing with those of the men's professional tennis players in 2004 Houston Master Cup, the frequency in first two beats is less, which explained that the ability of men's serve and receive is better than that of women's. The termination frequency in the third beat is distinctly larger, which means that women's scoring ability is worse than men's, however, relying on the advantage created by serve, the opportunities of rushing attack in the third beat is larger than those of men's. The termination frequencies after the fourth beats are similar.2) Speed is one of the most important factors for serve. However, the winning rate is not so high without angel and variation. Only based on the speed, integrated with changes of angel, placement and line, the serve can achieve better effect.3) Through the research, there is one common feature of 13 players'technique. The order of technique frequency is forehand,backhand, serve and serve receive. The most efficient technique of winning is serve, and the most efficient one of losing is serve receive. These illustrate that serve receive is their short slab for most players. However the highest ratio of winning or loss is backhand and forehand, after all, most players are baseline players.4) Winning technique is mostly fastened on serve, forehand and backhand, while the loss technique is fixed on serve receive, forehand and backhand. And volley, lob and drop shot are less used. The ratio of loss is closely related to each player's special skill.2. The space feature of excellent women professional players'technique is expressed below:①If the court is divided into three areas which are front, middle, and back court, the losing and winning ratio in front court is decided by the players'technical character. The winning ratio is obviously higher than the losing ratio in the middle court. The back court is the main area of hitting placement, meanwhile it is also the highest winning and losing ratio in this area.②For"left","middle"and"right"court, the winning feature is similar among the 13 players. Most points are won in the middle, except that Venus Williams got higher points on the right than that on the left and Safina got similar points on the two sides, other 11 players won higher points on the left. The 13 players are obviously different in losing. For most players, the losing ratio is highest in the middle, next is in the left and right.3.Although the frequency of the 13 players'technique is different with each other, the winning efficiency is similar, which is:Serve>stalemate>serve receive.4. The development trend of women's professional tennis technology is:①For serve, based on speed, merging with change of spin and fall point can make serve much more efficient.②receive is developed from defending to attacking forwardly.③technology is trending to all-around. Base on all-around, advantage technology is used in the match.④In the process of match, consciousness of attacking forwardly is advanced⑤most types of plays are based on baseline, combining with net play.
