Along with the increasingly fierce competition between electronic countermeasure (EC) and anti-EC technologies, developing practical tactical frequency hopping radios has become vitally important to our armed force. A fast Frequency Hopping (FH) scheme, which is based on the integration of Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) and Phase Lock Loop (PLL) technologies, has been presented in this thesis. First, the overall design of frequency hopping frequency synthesizer (FHFS) is given. The characteristics of this approach are discussed and the corresponding key technologies are also briefly introduced. Then, the specific frequency properties of DDS output signals and their effect on FH signals are carefully analyzed. Based on the above analysis, the fast FHFS hardware circuits as well as the relevant software programs have been successfully implemented. Experiments are carried out and the results show that the scheme presented in this thesis can satisfy the prescribed requirements of the project. Finally, the work of this thesis is summarized and future work is put forward. |
