Battlefield armored reconnaissance tank system, is an information reconnaissance & processing system for our country抯 digital armored troop which was researched recently years. Optical reconnaissance tank is the electronic reconnaissance facility in the front edge of battlefield. The main content of this dissertation includes the software design of optical reconnaissance tank system and the research work on video compressing for the need of the system in the future. First in chapter 1 ,we introduce the background of the battlefield armored reconnaissance tank system, and discuss the structure of the whole system and electrical performance criterion. Then we discuss the electrical sub-system structure of optical reconnaissance tank and radar reconnaissance tank and armored information processing tank. In chapter 2, we introduce the software design and the main modules? development of the third generation optical reconnaissance tank system. In order to improve function of the two original system (DOS versions), we propose and realize a new scheme (Windows version) which largely improves the system tactics criterion. The optical reconnaissance tank system has been reviewed and highly appraised by general staff of our nation in 2000. And the system is being used in the military now. In chapter 3, the pivotal techniques of the system are introduced, including the second development of image-grabbing card (CA-CPE-3000 and HyperVideo), static image compressing (JPEG and Wavelet), the exploitation of ORACLE database, and parallel multi-serial port communication. And we introduce the development of these modules by VC++. In chapter 4, we discuss the research work for the development of the system in the future. The main content is activity sequence image. We realize the compression and decompression of sequence image, and propose a new full search algorithm of Motion Estimation (In Motion Compensation technology): based on predict motion vector and branch delimitation.
