AAL2 Technology In Wireless ATM System

AAL2 technology is mainly used to transport voice> date, video, improving the statistical utilization efficiency by the voice compression and silence elimination technology. AAL2 technology is much better than AAL1 in the efficiency of bandwidth ,especially according to the low rate operation , and could promise a good transmission quality.In this paper, we first introduce the developing background > net architecture and Protocol Reference Model of the wireless ATM, especially the theory of AAL2. In order to represent the advantage of AAL2, we compare it with AAL1. At base of this ,we put forward the hardware scheme about the AAL2 technology in wireless ATM switch system, and descript every module and software debugging by detail. By the way ,we simply introduce something about the ATM switch. Finally , we descript the developing future of ATM and the integration it with IP technology.
