The Research Of RSVP In Supporting VoIP's QoS

Telephone operation and circuit switch is always the mainstream of the field of telecom since 100 years ago. With the quick development of the technique of computer and wide band networks, and especially for the Internet' s becoming the communication network which is most widely being used and fastest being developed, the trend of grouping, whose core is IP, has become the mainstream of telecom networks' s development.VocalTec Co. produced the first PC to PC software which is based on data networks for VoIP in 1995. On march 1996, the first telephone Gateway which links the traditional telecom networks with VoIP, was fabricated by VocalTec Co. who cooperated with Dialoic Co.The VoIP has been widely used, and with it' s continuing popularization and the increasing number of the users, the problem is becoming more outstanding. So how to ensure the quality of transmitting the user' s call information is becoming a pivotal problem that requires for settlement, namely the realization of supporting VoIP' s QoS is the key for the development of VoIP. VoIP adopts the switch technology which is completely different compare with traditional telephone, the VoIP studied in this thesis is based on the H.323 protocol.This article first states the principle and technique for VoIP from which are educed a few factors which influence the quality of speech of VoIP, as-well as the corresponding ways of solution. Then in the light of IP QoS, it' s core technology named RSVP, is studied and analyzed. Several ways for improving the quality of services of VoIP efficiently are put forward:1. RSVP Receiver Proxy2.
