The voice velocity of the wireless network is always inferior to the 64kbps of the fixed network. The traditional GSM(2G) system can not satisfy the future requirement due to its low use of the bandwith and scarcity of the service that it can offer. In order to get the full use of the transfer network, the study of 3G has been becoming the hot spot of the mobile communication realm since 1997.In 3G system, it is the key skill that how to transfer AMR voice in IP network. It is provided with prodigious economy advantage, technology advantage and the character of the times due to its advanced compressed format, high usage of the bandwith and low charge.This task takes aim at this blue print and accomplish the theory research and detail design of R4 MGW. Thereinto, I have implemented these parts as follows:1) lu Interface Module: peel off the package header of AAL2 layer and handle the payload in luUP layer;2) TC Module: resume the AMR frame from the payload of luUP frame; and do some coding transform if necessary;3) Nb Interface Module: convert the voice frame into NbUP mode, and transfer it in RTP/UDP/IP package;4) RTP_Header Compress Module: compress the RTP header;5) United RTP/UDP/IP_Header Compress Module: compress the united RTP/UDP/IP header.The result shows that the task is successful and get the expectant goal. This article describes the pocess of project analysis, design and implement in details, and introduces some key skill in the module design.
