Modern distant education based on Internet is focusing on construction of learning resources. Sharable Content Object Structure model proposes an idea of construction of learning resources on Internet . The thinking of "Oriented Object" is introduced to design and develop learning content. It consists of four parts: Content Format Model, Hierarchical Structure Model, Package Exchange Model, Object Navigation Model. XML technology is used to descript the content data and description information is stored in XML format. The model breaks through the traditional concept of "courseware" in CAI system since courseware has fixed mode against sharing. Also, it fuses "learner-centered" instructional concept and focus on separation of learning content and learning management. It keeps compatibility with current DLTS specification and extends it in some degree. At the end of this paper, a developing framework based on content object is proposed .
