| This thesis describes in detail the Industrialized Technology Reforming of golden bonding wires. The content and focus of the project is based on the research and analysis of the present condition of internal and external golden bonding wire production. We believe that tightening control of the production process is the key to ensuring consistent quality in the mass production of minute golden wires.The project focuses on three aspects of production: quality, economy, and technology.After identifying these three components, we researched the problem of golden wire breaking which often occurs in the present production process. We recorded statistics, took samples, analyzed the problem, and then derived a conclusion. Four factors cause the wires to break: defects on the surface of the wires, impurity within the wires, holes in the wires, and small objects adhering the surface of the wires. We analyzed technological links of the production, which also relates to the four causes of broken wires. Based on this we developed our plan for technological improvement experiments, super-clean workshop transforming, and the introduction of advanced wire drawing equipment. In addition we made analysis of the feasibility of these improvements.Work done for first period is as follows:The results of the technological experiments and improvements were documented and contrasted.Experiments and improvements were made involving the main factors that influence the quality of a wire's surface. The specifics of our work is as follows: the present crystallizing devices and old wiredrawing moulds were replaced, the overall cleanliness of the equipment in contact with the wires was raised, the ideal length of mould life was determined, and lubricating liquid was replaced etc. In order to improve the quality of product we improved technological environment, introduced international advanced wiredrawing devices, and modified the factory building.Experiments and improvements were made involving the purification of golden powder: the criterion for testing golden powder was revised, harmful elements were controlled, golden powder electrolysis cleaning technologies were improved, and the majority of electrolysis liquid remains were removed.Experiments and improvements were made concerning casting technologies: the quantity of furnace charge, the time-length of stir and lay up, the time-length of refining process, and the temperature and other parameters of casting technologies were all readjusted.Experiments were made involving alloy compositions: the best set of alloys was chosen, and the additive elements and their quantity were decided.Experiments were also made concerning other technologies: the length of a single 1000 meters-roller, the performance of wires at normal atmospheric temperatures, the breaking-strength and even ratio of stretch, the relationship between breaking-strength, even ratio of stretch and the temperature of annealing, etc.As a result of these careful experiments and technological improvements, the first goal in improving the three areas of production has been achieved: the product quality of golden bonding wires was raised by a big margin, an economic reward of an estimated 450kg sales volume in 2002 (as well as the desired production target being met one year in advance), and the formation of a set of technologies with an owned intellectual property on golden bonding wire production.The set of technologies include: casting of golden bars, the supplementing of trace elements, the drawing of minute golden wires, methods of testing and analyzing, successively annealing-rewinding, lubrication process.This project has been lauded and validated by Beijing Purple Stars Appraisal Co.
