The development of information technology and advanced manufacture technology, especially the rapid development of Internet/Extranet/Intranet, promote evolution on designing and manufacture of automobile product. In this paper, based on the deep research and analysis in Internet, Web technology, VPN technology and the theory of cooperative design, the different models of Internet based cooperative design of automobile are put forward integrated with features of the automobile enterprise and Web based Automobile product networked CAE supporting system (NCAE system) is exploited.Internet based remote cooperative design is the application in the field of products design of cooperative theory. Firstly the Web based CSCW technology is discussed and the important method that the share workspace can solve disperse cooperation is discussed. Then the basic system and key technology are discussed and analyzed. The Internet based remote cooperative design mode for automobile enterprises are put forward. The frame of Internet based cooperative design system based on B/W/D three layers structure is built. The function module and basic working theory of the system are put forward.Net information security technology is discussed. VPN technology and link protocol are discussed. Users security model is put forward. The article mostly researched the method of access to Web database using ADO and groupware technology of ASP. It provides uniform resource of cooperative design and information exchange for automobile corporations.Using that system, Vehicle Engineering Institute of Chongqing University and Chang'an Automobile Co.Ltd have finished the analysis of Q475 engine block.
