| Foot Orthosis is a supporting device which was used for alleviating the function abstacle of thenar muscle system .It was applied to treating various of thenar ailments. According to the state of an illness, It adopts the principle of full burdened, part burdened or part no burdened to incrassation , lower or even alter the width of the orthosis in the corresponding position ,so that optimize the distribution of force and realize the perfect rectificatory function . Nowaday , domestic orthosis was produced mainly by hand , so it can't meet the needs of markets in terms of quantity and quality . But in this field , technology of developed countries ,such as U.S.A and Germany , has already far been higher than us . It is very expensive for us to import their devices . Therefore, it is necessary to develop the Foot Orthosis CAD/CAM system by ourselves .By doing so , the cost of the equipment and production was reduced greatly . It accords with our country conditions .This text has mainly introduced the composition of the Foot Orthosis CAD System , and has explained the main function of every module separately . There are three main modules : image manipulation , model displaying and model modification . The main duty of image manipulation module is to deal with the patient's foot picture captured by camera and then mapping final clear outline to main client .The model displaying module'task is to display the orthosis on the main client and translate , rotate , zoom and mirror the orthosis . It also can change the viewport of the orthosis . The model modication module has a serial of function which can be modified the orthosis according to the situation of different patients .This article expound the wanton smooth area'modification in detail from two aspects .
