The Research On Certain Technical Problems Of Library Website Construction

Along with the campus network environment progressive improvement and the library network technology rapid development, various universities libraries have all established their own websites. Website is a bridge between user and library, and it provides a better way to serve user via web. Beginning with the construction of website, this article analyses some technology problems from the research perspective.This article first describes the transformation of library's function in the process of digitization and the domestic and foreign libraries information present situation, analyses the problems existing in the construction of library website. Then, the author discusses them from four aspects: the configuration of server, information organization and resource storage, load balance, and network security.The server is the foundation of establishing the website. In the "configuration of server" section, it analyzes the server performance requirement and the server shaping principle of the library website and discusses the selection of hardware and the configuration of operation system and software.In the "resource storage" section, it focuses on three main storage methods: DAS, NAS and SAN. Based on the characteristics of digital library, the author proposes that to achieve better information service, library should combine NAS with SAN. The resources organization technology mainly states the MARC data, the Z39.50 standard, the DC number and XML in library application.In the "load balance" section, it first analyzes the behavior of the users to visit the library website, then states the DNS load balancing, the reverse proxy load balancing and the server pack system, finally produces the typical case of the library website load balance.In the "network security" section, it analyses the importance of the library website security and states the safety of operation system, the network security protection as well as the data security protection. The data security protectionmainly elaborates the data backup and the backup strategy formulation. In this security technology foundation, it proposes the general model of the library website safe protection and the security policy.
