Research On The Support Tool Of Personal Project Process Management Based-on PSP

Personal Software Process helps to apply SW-CMM into enterpries individually. In order to improve enterpries' software capability maturity and personal project software quality, it is requirement for a suitable support tool to apply PSP into enterprise. So it is very important to design and implement a support tool of personal project process management based on PSP frame. Supported by the Liaoning Science and Technology Key Project No.2002216001 and the National High Technology Development 863 Program No.2003AA113020, the main issues related, such as how to standardize personal project process and assure personal project quality as PSP frame in a distributed environment, are studied in this work.Firstly the principal problems are analyzed that is encountered in the process of applying CMM and personal process improvement in the software companies. Then a distributed solution is put forward based on PSP---personal project process management support tool called P3Work. The tool includes the basic processes of PSP, software process script self-defining and editting. Based on the knowledge of correlated platforms, the J2EE technoloty and the third party application server are integrated in the design of software architecture and component. In order to simplify system development, several design patterns and rules are introduced. The design and development of P3Work are implemented by JSP and EJB technologies. Some important instances are listed and enterprise application integration is studied between the system and other enterprise information systems.The importance of the study lies in standardizing software engineers'daily pursuit, qualitying software processis, controling personal process, improving their process capabilities and assuring the software quality according defined software process script.
