| Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(OFDM) has been widely used in many systems such as digital audio broadcasting system(DAB), digital video broadcasting system(DVB), high definition TV(HDTV) and wireless local network. OFDM will be critical technique in broadband wireless mobile communication system in future. Great concern has given to the providing Mobile Location Services in mobile communication system for it can produce giant profit in market. So, radiolocation technique in the communication system based on OFDM modulation was investigated in this paper.In this paper, the radiolocation technique and principium of OFDM in the cell-communication system were introduced firstly, and sensitivity of OFDM system to synchronization was analyzed. Then, two methods of timing synchronization based on the cyclic prefix and pilot sequence were introduced, and a novel timing synchronization method based on pilot sequence was presented, which provided a correlation peak with pulse shape. At last, two ranging schemes based on the cyclic prefix and pilot sequence were developed, and the performance of ranging based on the novel pilot sequence was mainly analyzed. And theory analysis and computer simulation results were presented in the AWGN channel and multi-path channels. |
