This paper introduces the design and development of the hardware and software of monito ring and control system of multilevel high - voltage inverter in detail. Firstly, the control functions of high - voltage variable frequency drive system and multilevel inverters and the demands of this monitoring system are analy z e d. The thoughts of hardware design, the whole structure and the function of each hardware module are introduced respectively in this paper. Secondly, this paper presents the design, functions, structure, actualizing methods of part of monitoring and control program which runs on Indu strial Control Computer. Some further measures to correct the faults emerging in testing are also put forward. Moreover, the problems of the power quality impacting on high - voltage inverters are generally discussed and analyzed. A control strategy based on detecting DC voltage of power cell is put forward. Through simulating on MATLAB, the results show that this strategy can resist the disturbances of voltage sags and interruptions effectively.
